Terry McGuire, RGD
Co-founder & Creative Director

Terry brings over 30 years of creative leadership to Bootpack Media, with deep expertise in design, communication strategy, and digital learning. Throughout his career, Terry has helped some of North America’s most recognized brands solve complex business challenges through smart, human-centred design content.

A designer by training and a strategist by nature, Terry specializes in creating multimedia learning programs and awareness campaigns that don’t just inform—they shift behaviour. His work blends storytelling, behavioural science, and interactive media to create engaging, SCORM-compliant content that delivers measurable results across industries. 

He is also listed as an inventor on multiple U.S. and Canadian patents related to learning systems and interactive media demonstrating a track record of innovation and original thinking. 

 

Before founding Bootpack, Terry served as Vice President at Intertek Catalyst, leading award-winning campaigns for major national retailers. He’s also shared his knowledge in the classroom, teaching public relations and digital design at the college level, and continues to be a mentor and creative partner to clients and collaborators alike.​

 

Beyond the studio, you’ll find Terry baking bread, building furniture, shooting photos, or tuning skis and bikes (sometimes all in the same day). His creativity knows no bounds, and neither does his workshop.

Shayla McGuire, BA
Co-founder & CX/UX Specialist

Shayla brings the same perspective to her work that she brings to the outdoors - curious, resourceful, and always guided by empathy. She blends creative intuition with a grounded understanding of human behaviour to create digital experiences that feel effortless and authentic.

Her experience spans non-profit tech, health, legal, and creative agencies - grounded in a process that transforms complexity into clarity through thoughtful research and storytelling. 

In the outdoor space, she’s worked with some of her favourite brands, including Peak Performance, Fjällräven, and Sea to Summit.

 

Happiest with snow, sand, or dirt under her feet, you’ll find her biking, beachcombing, or skiing when she’s not deep in creative work.

Shayla McGuire

Co-founder / UX & CX Specialist

Shayla McGuire is a user experience designer and customer experience strategist who brings clarity, empathy, and creative problem-solving to every project. At Bootpack Media Works, she leads UX design and research with a focus on creating accessible, intuitive, and inclusive digital experiences that resonate with real people.

Shayla brings a sharp design eye and a deep understanding of human behaviour. She’s fluent in the tools of modern UX—research, prototyping, user testing, and accessibility standards—and applies them with intention to craft solutions that are as usable as they are impactful.​

Her background spans roles in non-profit tech, health platforms, and creative agencies, giving her a broad, adaptable perspective. She holds multiple certifications in UX, product design, and accessibility, and complements her design skills with project management know-how and a collaborative spirit that makes her a trusted partner across teams​. Working with premium outdoor brands such as Peak Performance, Fjallraven, Sea to Summit.
